2024 MTV VMAs: Sabrina Carpenter achieves major milestone
1. Sabrina Carpenter delivers heartwarming speech as she accepts first-ever MTV VMA award
Sabrina Carpenter won her first MTV Video Music Award for Best Song of the Year with her hit "Espresso" at the 2024 VMAs.
Dressed in a stunning white gown, the "Please Please Please" singer accepted her award and delivered a heartfelt speech. "I've literally never won one of these, so this is really special," Carpenter said. "The first people I want to thank are the fans."
Her heartfelt gratitude earned her a round of applause, which she humorously addressed: "If you clap after everything I say, they might kick me off the stage, so just hold on a second."
She continued, "You guys are the reason I get to do what I love and have so much fun sharing music with you. I'm incredibly grateful to have the best fans in the world. I know it sounds cheesy, but I really do love you."
Carpenter also took a moment to thank her family, manager, and even her "cats and dogs that are at home watching." "I love you all so much," she said. "I love making music with you and can’t wait to share more with the world."
She wrapped up by expressing her appreciation to those who contributed to "Espresso," including songwriters Amy Allen, Julian Bunetta, and Steph Jones.
