Asjad Iqbal’s unbeaten streak in the IBSF Mongolia Snooker World Cup 2024 came to an end on Wednesday when he was narrowly defeated by Cyprus’ Michael Georgiou in a tightly contested semi-final.
Iqbal struggled at the start, losing the first two frames of the high-pressure match. In other news, fellow Pakistani cueist Awais Munir was eliminated in the quarter-finals following a 4-2 loss to Iran’s Ali Ghareghazloo, ending his campaign. Munir had previously advanced by defeating Hong Kong’s Chau Ho Man 4-2.
Both Pakistani players demonstrated impressive performances to reach the quarter-finals, with Iqbal’s notable 4-1 victory over Hong Kong’s Cheung Yu Kei in the pre-quarter finals.
