Karachi, Pakistan’s largest urban metropolis, has been ranked as the second riskiest city in the world by Forbes Advisor. The port city follows Caracas, Venezuela, in a list that evaluates 60 international cities across seven key risk metrics, including crime, personal safety, health, infrastructure, natural disasters, and digital security.

Forbes Advisor reports that Karachi faces the highest personal security risks, encompassing threats from crime, violence, terrorism, natural disasters, and economic vulnerabilities. Additionally, the U.S. State Department has rated Karachi as having the second-worst travel safety, with the port city also facing the fourth-highest infrastructure security risk. The State Department's June 2023 travel advisory notes that "terrorism and ongoing violence by extremist elements" have led to indiscriminate attacks on civilians and security forces, resulting in a "Level 3" advisory, advising travelers to reconsider visiting.

In contrast, Caracas is the riskiest city overall, with the highest health security risk due to poor healthcare services and infrastructure, as well as the highest crime risk. Yangon, Myanmar, is ranked third, facing the highest digital security risk and the third-highest personal security risk.

On the other hand, Forbes Advisor also identified the world's safest cities:

1. **Singapore**: Ranked as the safest city, with the best travel safety rating from the State Department. It has the lowest natural disaster risk and the second-lowest health security risk.
2. **Tokyo, Japan**: Secures the second position, with the lowest health security risk and the best travel safety rating.
3. **Toronto, Canada**: Holds the third spot among the safest cities.

These rankings reflect the relative safety and security of these cities based on various risk factors.
