KARACHI – The bodies of 28 Pakistani nationals who tragically died in a bus accident in Iran have been repatriated via a special flight.
A Pakistan Air Force C-130 aircraft, which landed at the Shahbaz Air Base in Jacobabad last night, also brought back the injured individuals.
The operation was carried out under the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
After a funeral prayer held at Shahbaz Air Base, the bodies were handed over to their families. Earlier, funeral prayers for the deceased were also offered at Yazd Airport.
The bus accident, which occurred on Tuesday, claimed the lives of 28 Pakistanis and left 23 others injured, 14 of whom are in critical condition.
Special arrangements, including ambulances for the injured and an air ambulance for those critically injured, were made for the transportation of the affected individuals.
