1. Karachi Express narrowly escaped an accident due to a technical fault on Saturday morning, ARY News reported.
The Karachi Express, traveling from Karachi to Lahore, narrowly avoided an accident at Kotri when coach number 16 started emitting smoke, causing panic among passengers. DS Railway Naser Khalili informed the media that the issue was due to an overheated axle. The fault was addressed, and the train resumed its journey with a two-hour delay.
This incident follows another near-disaster on June 26, when the Faisalabad-bound Millat Express experienced a major issue near Kotri railway station. Four bogies of the Millat Express derailed due to brake failure. Several passengers sustained minor injuries, but fortunately, there were no fatalities. The derailment resulted in the suspension of rail traffic on the Up Track.
