'Internal stability essential for development', Chinese minister tells Pakistan political parties

The recent meeting of the Pakistan-China Joint Consultative Mechanism (JCM) highlighted the importance of internal stability and political unity in Pakistan for the successful development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC), emphasized that stability is crucial for national development amidst global uncertainties. This meeting was attended by leaders from various major political parties in Pakistan, signifying a collective commitment to the CPEC project despite internal political differences.

The event underscored that sustainable development hinges on political and social stability. Jianchao praised CPEC's contributions to Pakistan’s development but stressed the need for improved security to foster a better business environment, a significant concern for Chinese investors.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and other Pakistani leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the CPEC, recognizing it as vital for Pakistan's economic growth. They also emphasized enhancing people-to-people linkages to strengthen mutual understanding and trust between the two nations.
