PPP parliamentary party meets today over budget session

Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will preside over the parliamentary party meeting of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) at the Parliament House. All PPP parliamentarians have been instructed to attend the session, where the party will discuss and formulate its strategy for the upcoming federal budget.
The meeting will address the government's neglect of the PPP in the budget preparation process. The 2024-25 federal budget is scheduled to be presented on June 12.
In the last week of May, a PPP delegation met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, urging for a people-friendly budget for the upcoming year. The delegation included former Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Syed Naveed Qamar, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, and Senator Sherry Rehman.
During the meeting, the PPP delegation presented several recommendations, including an increase in budget allocations and more development projects for Sindh. They also emphasized the need for more funds for projects benefiting Sindh’s flood-affected residents, highlighting that the previous year's budget allocated insufficient resources for flood victims.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured the PPP delegation that their demands would be considered in the budget consultations.
