Rain predicted in Peshawar, parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

PESHAWAR – Rain-wind/thunderstorms are predicted in Peshawar and at isolated places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave also persists over upper parts of the country.

Under these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms are predicted at isolated places in Kohistan, Shangla, Batgram, Swat, Chitral, Dir, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar and Mansehra on Friday night and the following two days. Very hot weather with gusty winds are predicted in southern districts. Hot and dry weather will likely prevail elsewhere in the province.

Peshawar’s maximum temperatures will likely stay between 41-43°C on Saturday and 40-42°C on Sunday.

Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in Peshawar and most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours. Very hot weather with gusty winds prevailed in southern districts. However, rain-thunderstorms occurred at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Dera Ismail Khan remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 45°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 13 per cent.

In Peshawar, the maximum temperature was recorded at 42°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 17 per cent.
