The extreme heatwave gripping Pakistan has led to the tragic deaths of multiple individuals in both Hyderabad and Karachi. On Monday, nine bodies were brought to various hospitals in Hyderabad, found abandoned across the city. Many of the deceased are believed to be drug addicts, whose weakened immune systems made them particularly vulnerable to the severe weather conditions. This was noted by Dr. Qazi Humayun Rasheed, a psychologist.

Similarly, Karachi has seen a grim toll from the heatwave, with 20 deaths reported on Thursday. Rescue officials stated they received eight bodies from different areas of the city on that day alone. The deceased, also believed to be drug addicts, were found in various locations, including Lyari, Chundrigar Road, Clifton, Malir, Quaidabad, and the Super Highway. The bodies were taken to Civil Hospital, Jinnah Hospital, and Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
