Karachi likely to witness heavy rain, thunder today

**Karachi:** The residents of Karachi should prepare for heavy rainfall today (Saturday) as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast cloudy skies for the next 24 hours, with a chance of rain and thunderstorms.
According to the PMD, the city's maximum temperature is expected to range between 30°C and 32°C, with humidity levels around 81%.
Winds in Karachi are currently blowing from the southwest at a speed of six kilometers per hour.
The Met Office has also predicted rain across the country today, with Karachi expected to experience heavy downpours both today and Sunday.
PMD's Chief Meteorologist, Sardar Sarfraz, warned of potential urban flooding in low-lying areas of Karachi due to the anticipated heavy rainfall.
The ongoing monsoon spell is likely to continue until August 25, during which thundershowers may affect various districts in Sindh and Punjab, according to the PMD.
Yesterday, several regions in Punjab, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa witnessed rainfall. In Lahore, the weather has turned pleasant with ongoing rain and strong winds in different parts of the city.
Other areas of Punjab, including Sheikhupura, Rahim Yar Khan, and Kasur, also received rainfall, along with several regions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan experiencing heavy rain.
