Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has vowed to eliminate Pakistan's enemies following the tragic death of Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas, who was killed in a terrorist attack in the Lakki Marwat district. This attack, which involved the detonation of an improvised explosive device on a vehicle carrying security forces, resulted in the martyrdom of seven soldiers.

Captain Faraz Ilyas, a 26-year-old from Rai Kalan village in Kasur, was honored in a funeral attended by high-ranking officials, including the Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, the Inspector General of Police Punjab, senior military officers, civil authorities, and local residents. Prime Minister Sharif expressed his condolences to the parents of the fallen officer and announced the transformation of Rai Kalan into a model village, renaming it "Faraz Ilyas Shaheed" in honor of the martyred captain.

On social media, the Prime Minister expressed his deep sadness over the targeted attack and reaffirmed his commitment to eradicating terrorism, stating that the sacrifices of the brave soldiers and citizens must be repaid by eliminating terrorism from the nation.

The funeral prayers for Captain Faraz Ilyas and the other martyred soldiers—Subedar Major Muhammad Nazir, Lance Naik Muhammad Anwar, Lance Naik Hussain Ali, Sepoy Asadullah, Sepoy Manzoor Hussain, and Sepoy Rashid Mehmood—were also held in Bannu. The ceremony was attended by the Corps Commander of Peshawar, other serving officers, soldiers, and the general public, after which the bodies were sent to their respective native areas for burial.
