**Faisalabad:** Police on Saturday arrested two suspects accused of involvement in the gang rape of a woman in the Painsra area of Faisalabad.
Authorities reported that the victim, a resident of Lahore, had traveled to Faisalabad to meet a friend named Muhammad Waseem.
An official from Thekriwala police station confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) had been filed, and efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects were ongoing. Two of the alleged perpetrators have been taken into custody.
According to the FIR, the victim stated that she visited Waseem in Painsra on the evening of August 14. However, after an argument, Waseem left for his home, leaving her alone.
The victim recounted that she later went to Waseem's house, asking him to drop her off at the bus station. When they were unable to find a bus, they returned to Painsra Chowk, where another argument ensued.
The FIR further states that Waseem then called his friend Abdul Raheem, asking for temporary accommodation until a bus became available.
The woman alleged that a suspect named Imran, also known as Mani, along with three to four accomplices, entered Abdul Raheem's residence, assaulted Waseem, and restrained him in another room. She claimed that Imran and his accomplices then gang-raped her.
She also reported that the suspects had stolen their mobile phones. The victim expressed suspicion that both Abdul Raheem and Waseem were involved in the crime and urged authorities to bring all those responsible to justice.
