**TEHRAN:** A tragic accident involving a bus carrying Pakistani pilgrims in Yazd, Iran, has resulted in at least 35 fatalities, with 15 others sustaining serious injuries.

Maulana Qamar Abbas Naqvi, a member of a peace committee in Larkana, reported that 30 people died instantly at the scene, while five others later succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.

However, Iran's Mehr News Agency reported a death toll of 28, noting that hospitals across the city had been put on emergency alert to treat the injured.

The bus, carrying 53 passengers, overturned and caught fire near the Taftan-Dehshir checkpoint. Police and rescue officials quickly responded, transporting the bodies and injured to nearby hospitals.
