Bohra community head Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin to address Muharram sermons in Karachi

The Dawoodi Bohra community head, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, has selected Karachi as the location for the annual 10-day Muharram congregations, known as Ashara Mubaraka. The Pakistani government and the Dawoodi Bohra community in Pakistan officially invited Saifuddin earlier this month to conduct the sermons.
Ashara Mubaraka is a significant period for the Dawoodi Bohra community, dedicated to commemorating Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), his grandson Imam Husain (RA), and his family and companions. This period is a tribute to their courageous stand for justice, truth, and humanity.
Shabbir Harianawala, a coordinator from the Karachi Dawoodi Bohra community, mentioned that over 80,000 Dawoodi Bohras from Pakistan and abroad are expected to attend the congregation. He highlighted that they are collaborating closely with government authorities and local organizations, including neighbors, to ensure that the guests are well taken care of during their stay in Karachi. The aim is to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment for all attendees.
The last time Syedna Mufaddal led the Muharram congregations in Karachi was in 2017.
