'The Summer I turned Pretty' creator teases fans with exciting update

Jenny Han, the creator and writer of The Summer I Turned Pretty, excited fans with a major update about the show's upcoming third season.

After wrapping up filming, Han took to her Instagram Stories to share a sneak peek of what viewers can expect from the new season.

“One thing I’ll say about season 3 of TSITP,” she teased in a now-deleted Story, revealing, “there are no filler episodes.”

The hit Prime Video series, which first premiered in 2022, follows the story of Belly (Lola Tung), a young girl navigating a complicated love triangle with two boys, Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). The plot centers around Belly’s emotional struggles with the two Fisher brothers.

Although it’s still unclear whether season three will be the final season, Han emphasized that her focus remains on storytelling. “My priority has always been that I want fans of the book to feel really satisfied by the story we’re telling,” she shared in a recent interview with Variety. “But also, for them to understand that this is an adaptation in a new medium, so it’s not going to be exactly the same.”

The new season will likely take place two years after the events of season two, focusing on Belly’s relationship with Jeremiah, while also exploring her lingering feelings for Conrad.

The Summer I Turned Pretty season three is set to premiere in the summer of 2025, with 11 new episodes.
