This decision means Naseem will miss out on approximately Rs 45 million, as he had signed with the Birmingham Phoenix team for £125,000.
Sources indicate that the PCB's decision is a precautionary measure ahead of important matches in the World Test Championship. Naseem Shah, who plays across all three formats for Pakistan, has faced fitness challenges, including a shoulder injury that required surgery in October 2023, forcing him out of action for several months. Given these concerns, the PCB has prioritized his recovery and fitness regimen, declining his application for an NOC to ensure his long-term well-being and readiness for future international commitments.
