T20 World Cup 2024: Shahid Afridi to reveal 'inside story' of Pakistan squad

Former captain of the Pakistan cricket team, Shahid Afridi, has announced that he will soon disclose the inside story of the current T20 World Cup squad. In an interview with a local TV channel, Afridi hinted at internal issues within the team, emphasizing the role of the captain in maintaining team unity and cohesion.

Afridi mentioned young pacer Mohammad Wasim during the interview, implying that both of them were aware of certain internal matters but could not discuss them openly. Regarding his son-in-law, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Afridi stated that his relationship with Shaheen would not prevent him from being objective. He asserted that if any of his family members were wrong, he would call them out.

Afridi criticized the selection committee, accusing them of making significant mistakes in recent years. He promised to speak openly about these issues after the World Cup, suggesting that internal actions had damaged the team unit.
