**KARACHI:** A man critically injured in a tragic accident on Karsaz Road, which claimed the lives of a father and daughter and left three others wounded, is currently fighting for his life in a city hospital.

On Saturday, family members of the injured man, Abdul Salam, informed Geo News that the next 48 hours are crucial as he remains on a ventilator.

"We haven't received any contact or support from government officials. We're relying solely on Allah for help," a family member expressed.

The family also reported that after being brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), Abdul Salam endured excruciating pain for over eight hours without receiving proper care.

Abdul Salam, a resident of Korangi No. 1, was a book supplier and was on his usual rounds when the accident occurred, the family added.

### The Accident

On August 19, a luxury vehicle driven by a suspect collided with multiple vehicles near the Pakistan Maritime Museum, killing a young woman and an elderly man. The victims and the injured were taken to JPMC for legal formalities and treatment.

The deceased were identified as 26-year-old Aamna Arif and her 60-year-old father, Imran Arif, while one of the injured remains in critical condition, according to police.

Law enforcement officials reported that the woman responsible for the accident sustained a head injury and underwent a CT scan at JPMC. The suspect, a resident of KDA Scheme-I, claimed she lost control of her car while driving on the service road near Karsaz, leading to the accident.

The suspect, identified in the FIR as "Natasha," was sent to jail on judicial remand by a Karachi court on August 21.

### The Case

According to the police, a case was filed by Imtiaz Arif, the brother of one of the deceased, at the Bahadurabad police station. The FIR includes charges of culpable homicide and negligence.

Imtiaz stated that he learned about his brother’s accident via a phone call and, upon reaching JPMC, found his brother and niece deceased. He discovered that the SUV driver had rear-ended his brother’s motorcycle, causing the fatal accident. Another motorcyclist, Abdul Salam, was also injured.

Imtiaz attributed the deaths to the suspect’s "negligence, reckless driving, and speeding."

Police confirmed that since the suspect possessed a driving license, charges of culpable homicide will be pursued. Negligence and rash driving charges have also been included in the FIR.
