1. Police recover 18 stolen mobile phones and cash from suspects
Karachi police arrested a group of wanted dacoits in the Landhi area, known for targeting individuals withdrawing cash from banks. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Korangi, Toheed Rehman, announced that the group confessed to multiple incidents across the city, with stolen mobile phones, cash, and weapons recovered during the operation.
The group was notably active in areas such as Shah Latif, Sohrab Goth, Saddar, Sharea Faisal, and Korangi. Initial investigations revealed their involvement in looting dozens of shops, including a notable incident where they robbed Rs 35,000 from a famous biryani seller's shop in Landhi No. 6, an act caught on viral CCTV footage. Other significant thefts include Rs 170,000 from a citizen in Shah Faisal during Eid ul Fitr, Rs 300,000 from an individual in Quaidabad, Rs 168,000 from a general store in Akhtar Colony, and several robberies at Singer Chowrangi and Landhi 89.
Among those arrested are Abid, Ali Raza, Zafar Iqbal, Haider, Abdul Rehman, and Liaquat, while efforts continue to apprehend two other accomplices. Abid also confessed to shooting a citizen during a robbery in New Karachi.
