Kanye West, who is rumored to be attending the 67th Grammy Awards, has made an unexpected move on social media.
On Saturday, February 1st, the 47-year-old rapper posted a series of screenshots on his Instagram Stories. Among the posts was a screenshot of his following list, which included only one person: Taylor Swift, with whom he has had a tumultuous history.
Kanye also shared a post thanking the Grammys for nominating his album Carnival, tagging Swift in the process.
His surprising posts set off a frenzy among both Swifties and Ye fans, sparking plenty of chatter online.
“Looks like someone’s a Swiftie,” one user commented, while another wrote, “You will never surpass Taylor.” A third user speculated, “Okay, so are you featured on Reputation TV, or are you just bored?” referencing rumors of Swift’s re-release of her 2017 album Reputation.
One fan even claimed, “TAYLOR SWIFT IS GIVING YOU THAT GRAMMY TOMORROW, LOVE YOU YE,” since Swift was announced as a presenter at the ceremony.
This move comes after years of back-and-forth drama between the two artists, dating back to the infamous 2009 MTV VMAs when Kanye interrupted Taylor’s acceptance speech. Despite moments of reconciliation, their relationship has been marked by subtle digs in the media and references in their music.
