1. Joaquin Phoenix reprised his role as the Joker in the upcoming sequel, 'Joker: Folie À Deux'
"Joaquin Phoenix shared insights into the challenges of reprising his role as the Joker in the upcoming sequel, *Joker: Folie À Deux*.
In a conversation with *The Hollywood Reporter*, Phoenix revealed that while he took the role very seriously and even lost significant weight to embody the Gotham city villain’s look, the most challenging aspect was mastering the Joker’s laugh.
“I didn’t think I could do it,” he confessed. Phoenix recalled spending months perfecting the laugh, practicing alone before eventually asking director Todd Phillips for a review. “I felt like I had to perform it on the spot and in front of someone else. It was really uncomfortable and took me a long time.”
Phoenix initially worked to capture the Joker’s uncontrollable laughter by learning about a condition called "The Pseudobulbar Effect," a concept introduced to him by Phillips, according to *IndieWire*."
