Jamie Foxx required stitches after an altercation during his birthday dinner turned violent.
The 57-year-old comedian was celebrating his birthday on Friday, December 13th, at the Los Angeles hotspot Mr. Chow when the incident occurred.
“Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth,” a spokesperson for Foxx told Page Six on Saturday. “He had to get stitches and is recovering. The police were called, and the matter is now in law enforcement’s hands.”
According to a press release obtained by the outlet, law enforcement responded to Mr. Chow at 10:06 p.m. for a reported assault with a deadly weapon. However, the police later classified the incident as a “physical altercation between parties.”
At this time, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
The unfortunate incident comes after Foxx endured a life-threatening health scare in 2023. Reflecting on his recovery, the actor and comedian previously shared in a video on X, “It’s beautiful because I didn’t know if I would be here to celebrate it.”
