What is deadline for Hajj 2024 applications?
1. Overseas Pakistanis can sponsor Hajj applications for themselves or their loved ones, says spokesperson
The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has received over 72,000 Hajj applications as the Tuesday deadline for the government scheme approaches.
Spokesperson Muhammad Umar Butt announced that designated banks would continue accepting applications under the Government Hajj Scheme until tomorrow evening.
He added that applicants have the option to join their relatives' Hajj groups for greater convenience.
To participate in the Regular Hajj Scheme, applicants must deposit an initial payment of Rs200,000. The second installment, bringing the total to Rs400,000 (including additional facilities), must be paid within 10 days of the balloting. The final payment is due by February 10.
Umar also noted that overseas Pakistanis can sponsor Hajj applications for themselves or their family members, making it easier for them to perform the sacred pilgrimage. He emphasized that this initiative aims to ensure a smooth and transparent Hajj process.
Additionally, the ministry has announced the 40th Annual National Hifz and Qirat Competition. Nominations are invited from all four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Umar stated that district and provincial-level competitions will be conducted, with provinces required to finalize and submit their nominees by January 15. Winners from these rounds will advance to the national competition.
He highlighted that national-level winners would have the opportunity to represent Pakistan in international competitions, showcasing their skills globally.
This year’s event includes separate categories for boys, girls, and youth, ensuring equal participation opportunities for all age groups and regions. Umar concluded by saying that the competition promotes Quranic education and nurtures young talent across the country.
