Mian Dawood advocate filed a contempt of court petition in the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) against PTI's Information Secretary Rauf Hasan and party spokesman Shoaib Shaheen in a matter related to scandalizing judiciary and judges.

Rauf Hasan and Shoaib Shaheen have been made parties in the petition. He prayed in the light of SC decisions, contempt of court action should be taken against Rauf Hasan and Shoaib Shaheen.

“In the past, the SC had sentenced politicians for scandalizing judges,” he said.

The petitioner attached transcripts of incriminating interviews of Rauf Hasan and Shoaib Shaheen and claimed PTI has been scandalizing the judiciary under a systematic campaign.

Both PTI leaders are scandalizing judges under a criminal scheme and using foul language against IHC Chief Justice Aamir Farooq.

The petition claimed calling the IHC CJ a tout by Rauf Hasan is tantamount to scandalizing the judiciary.

He said that Rauf Hasan also scandalized the SCP Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa and leveled baseless allegations.

The petitioner claimed statements of both PTI leaders violated Article 204 of the Constitution.

“PTI is destroying the public's confidence in the judiciary under the criminal scheme. The SC did not proceed with the proceedings against Imran Khan for contempt of court. PTI was encouraged to make insulting statements by not taking action against Imran Khan,” the petitioner said.

“If the SC had punished Imran Khan in the contempt of court case, this would not have happened today,” the petitioner said.
