Shab-e-Barat: Sindh schools to remain closed on Feb 14

1. Holiday announced in pursuance of decision taken in sub-committee meeting of steering committee on education
KARACHI: The Sindh government announced on Thursday that all public and private schools will remain closed on 15th Shaban (February 14) in observance of Shab-e-Barat.
A notification issued by the education department stated that all educational institutions under the School Education and Literacy Department's jurisdiction will be closed on February 14.
This holiday comes in line with decisions made by the Sindh sub-committee of the steering committee on education.
Shab-e-Barat, the holiest night between the 14th and 15th of Shaban, is a time when Muslims seek forgiveness from Allah. Special religious gatherings will be held across the country, and many people will visit graveyards to offer prayers for their departed loved ones.
Muslims around the world celebrate the night of the 15th Shaban with devotion, engaging in nawafil prayers at mosques and offering special prayers.
