Punjab to restructure ministries, departments

The Punjab government announced on Sunday its decision to undertake the largest restructuring of its ministries and departments in history. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved a comprehensive plan designed to streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and improve public service delivery.

The restructuring plan aims to address financial burdens by downsizing redundant, ineffective, and loss-making institutions. Overlapping departments will be merged to reduce administrative overhead and simplify government operations. This initiative is expected to save billions of rupees and significantly reduce the government's annual expenses.
