Karachi is facing hot and humid weather today, with no rain expected, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). The PMD forecasts that the maximum temperature will be between 37°C and 39°C, with sea breezes blowing at 18 to 20 kilometers per hour, and a minimum temperature of 30.7°C.

Despite the heat, there is a slight possibility of temperatures decreasing due to the return of sea breezes. However, the city has recently experienced record high temperatures, causing at least eight fatalities from heat-related illnesses. The PMD also mentioned the possibility of rain after June 28, offering some hope for relief.

Karachi, often referred to as a "concrete jungle," has seen many old trees cut down to make way for development, exacerbating the heat. The removal of mature trees has eliminated natural cooling effects, and while new trees are being planted, they won't provide immediate relief. The city has seen temperatures reach 42°C in June for the first time since 2015, largely due to blocked coastal winds and the impact of climate change, which has increased both global and local temperatures and humidity levels.
