Sources report that action has been taken due to irregularities in recruitment and promotions in the lower house of parliament. Special Secretary Chaudhry Mubarak has been terminated from his service, according to sources.
Additionally, Speaker of the National Assembly has suspended Additional Secretary Yaseen Saleemi following an inquiry. Seventeen officers who were illegally regularized have been demoted and returned to contractual service. Some officials initially hired as managers have been demoted to deputy managers.
Several employees of the National Assembly were reportedly recruited without proper documents and academic certificates. Earlier, the National Assembly Secretariat issued notices to employees for failing to mark their biometric attendance, which is mandatory for all officers and employees per the Speaker's instructions.
Show-cause notices were served to 90 employees who were not registered in the biometric system. Sources indicate that the Speaker received a report about ghost employees receiving salaries without attending the office. To address this, the Speaker directed the enforcement of biometric attendance, according to sources.
