Katy Perry reveals her true supporter before new album's release
1. Katy Perry shares where she gets true support before the 143 album release
Katy Perry, the acclaimed singer-songwriter, opened up about where she finds "real" support for her music in a recent interview with Audacy. While discussing the challenges she faced while creating her new album, *143*, Katy shared that some of her struggles came from her family and fans. However, her stepson, Flynn Bloom, was a source of unwavering support.
“They’ve had enough of me,” Katy joked about her family. “They’re fine, but they’re telling me to move or take out the trash. They’re sick of it. It’s family—they’re just going to be real. I don’t do listening parties,” the 39-year-old singer explained.
Among her family members, Katy admitted that her stepson Flynn, who is 13, is the one she can always rely on. “He’s adorable, and he has a great ear. Out of my whole family, he’s probably the best person to share my music with,” she said.
Katy recalled how Flynn gave his seal of approval to her hit single *Never Really Over* before it was released. “I played it for him and asked, ‘What do you think?’ and he said, ‘Yeah, this is good.’” She added, “He’s got great taste. He loves *All the Love* from *143*, which is one of my favorite songs I’ve written.”
Katy and actor Orlando Bloom, who got engaged on February 14, 2019, share a daughter, Daisy Dove, born in August 2020. Flynn is Bloom’s son from his previous marriage to Miranda Kerr.
Katy’s new album, *143*, is set to be released on Friday, September 20.
