Jelly Roll admits he was the 'worst criminal ever'

During an interview on The Howard Stern Show, country music star Jelly Roll candidly reflected on his troubled teenage years, revealing how his attempts at a life of crime were far from successful.

Host Howard Stern humorously pointed out Jelly Roll's numerous arrests, prompting the singer to acknowledge his lack of skill as a criminal. "So bad," Jelly Roll admitted, describing himself as "the worst criminal ever."

Recalling a particular incident when he was around 15 years old, Jelly Roll shared a humorous anecdote involving Xanax. He explained how the drug's effects made him feel slow and sluggish, setting the stage for a comically failed escape attempt.

"In my mind, when the police pulled us over, I was like, ‘I’m just gonna run,’" Jelly Roll recounted. Despite his intentions, his Xanax-induced state hindered his getaway. "So I opened the door, and in my mind, I jumped out and sprinted across a field and almost made it," he said. However, his physical condition betrayed him. "I was so fat and Xanaxed out, I stood out and got two steps."

The comedic scene reached its climax when Jelly Roll's escape attempt ended in a fall, with the police officer simply laying on top of him in pity. "He felt so bad for me, he didn’t even charge me for trying to run," Jelly Roll concluded, reflecting on the absurdity of his failed criminal escapade.
