General Hospital star Johnny Wactor's funeral after murder: report

General Hospital actor Johnny Wactor was laid to rest in his native South Carolina, three weeks after a tragic shooting incident took his life in Los Angeles.

At 37, Wactor tragically succumbed to gunshot wounds on May 25, following an attempted robbery where he bravely intervened to protect Joy in downtown Los Angeles.

In an effort to seek justice for Wactor, his partner Parker, brother Grant, and friend Micah Parker organized a rally in Los Angeles, urging action against the perpetrators who are still at large.

During his final moments, Wactor courageously shielded Joy before being fatally shot.

Family and friends gathered on Saturday afternoon for Wactor's funeral at Summerville Baptist Church in Summerville, South Carolina. Parker, reflecting on the solemn occasion, shared a poignant image of Wactor displayed on the altar, adorned with floral tributes, with the caption "Laid to Rest. But still so present with us," and tagged the Instagram page @justiceforjohnnywactor, which updates on the search for his killers.

Anita Joy, Wactor's coworker, shared a touching moment from the service, posting a photo of the funeral program with the caption "Today was beautiful for you, Johnny. We love you."

In another tribute, Joy expressed disbelief at the loss, sharing a photo of one of Wactor's funeral portraits with the caption "Unbelievable. But you are so loved."
