Dwayne Johnson underscored the significance of confronting fears on World Mental Health Day.
On October 10, the professional wrestler shared a video on his Instagram, emphasizing the importance of mental wellbeing and addressing the fears that impact our mental health.
In the video, he stated, “Everybody is fighting demons, and many keep it inside. A lot of people don’t talk about it, and I’ve learned that the hard way over the years.”
He shared his approach to checking in on friends, saying, “I don’t ask, ‘Hey, what’s wrong?’ Instead, I say, ‘How’s your heart? How are you feeling?’ You’d be surprised at what that means to people.”
Johnson opened up about his own struggles with mental health, recalling, “I know what it’s like to spiral… I’ve been there.” He described those difficult times as “bouts of mental hell.”
Reflecting on his recent experiences, he expressed that even waking up on a beautiful day can feel “grey.”
He urged viewers to check in on their friends and loved ones, saying, “When you don’t, I’ve lost friends who felt overwhelmed by life’s stress and pressure. The mental hell became too much for them.”
At the end of his video, the *Moana* star encouraged everyone to check in on themselves and seek help, asserting that “it doesn’t make you weak... That’s your superpower.”
