CTD apprehends 15 terrorists in Punjab IBOs

A spokesperson for the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) announced the arrest of a wanted terrorist associated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) group. The apprehended individual, who received training in South Waziristan, was captured in Mianwali.
Concurrent operations were conducted in various cities including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Multan, and others. During these operations, law enforcement authorities seized explosives, detonators, safety fuses, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), mobile phones, and cash.
CTD officials disclosed that the terrorists were plotting attacks aimed at instilling fear and chaos among the populace.
Earlier, the CTD released a report stating that 44 terrorists were detained in operations carried out across Punjab during May. A total of 794 intelligence-based operations were conducted, resulting in the apprehension of these individuals.
The operations spanned cities such as Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Narowal, Sialkot, Khanewal, Mandi Bahauddin, Jhang, Rahim Yar Khan, and Bahawalpur. Among those arrested were two dangerous terrorists linked to the TTP, who were planning attacks at various locations.
Additionally, the CTD recovered explosives, hand grenades, detonators, and other weapons during these operations.
The arrested terrorists include individuals named Muhammad Khan, Abdul Rauf, Habibullah, Muhammad Shehzad, Himayatullah, Usama Azim, Tariq Khan, Tanveer Ahmed, and Ahsan.
Furthermore, in May, the CTD conducted 2738 combing operations, resulting in the arrest of 673 suspects and the interrogation of 96,796 individuals.
