1. Federal government has decided to deploy Pakistan Army and Rangers for security of Champions Trophy
Islamabad: The federal government has decided to implement foolproof security measures for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, deploying the Pakistan Army and Rangers for security.
According to government sources, the federal cabinet has approved the deployment, with the Pakistan Army operating under Article 245 of the Constitution. Additionally, both the Army and Rangers will be deployed under the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
The ICC Champions Trophy is set to take place from February 19 to March 9, 2025.
