The competition was close, with independent candidate Najeebullah Khan securing 10,622 votes and Jamaat-e-Islami’s (JI) Abid Khan obtaining 10,593 votes. Sunni Ittehad Council’s (SIC) Rahatullah Khan came in fourth with 7,146 votes.
