Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the formation of a committee to restructure ministries and departments, aiming to improve governance in the province.

According to a statement from the CM's House, a 14-member special high-powered committee has been constituted and tasked with preparing recommendations within 60 days. Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb will serve as the convener of the committee, with Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman and Law Minister Sohaib Ahmad Barth among its members.

The statement mentioned that the committee will focus on downsizing departments that are incurring losses and abolishing redundant institutions. The chief minister believes that reducing the size of ministries will simplify official affairs and enhance the efficiency of public service delivery.

**Expanding Free WiFi Service**

In a separate initiative, the CM's House announced the expansion of the "CM Maryam Nawaz Free Wifi" services to 100 additional points in Lahore, bringing the total to 200 points. The Punjab Safe City Authority has activated and enhanced this service in various areas including Manga Mandi, Multan Road, Bund Road, Chung, Shah Pur Kanjran, Sundar, Valencia, Maraka, and others.

Under the digital Punjab vision, the free wifi service aims to provide emergency connectivity for citizens. The service enables access to the Women Safety App, Punjab Police App, and WhatsApp for emergency communication with police and family members.

The "CM Maryam Nawaz Free WiFi" service ensures that people can use WhatsApp calls or messages to reach out to the police and family members in case of emergencies.
