Trump slams Fox News for announcing interview with Harris
1. Former US president criticizes Fox News, singling out anchors Cavuto, Eric Shawn, and Arthel Neville
Former U.S. President Donald Trump, the Republican candidate in the 2024 presidential race, has criticized Fox News for scheduling an interview with his rival, Kamala Harris, labeling the network as "weak and soft on Democrats."
In his social media posts, Trump claimed that Bret Baier, the journalist conducting the interview, is heavily biased towards the left. He further accused Harris's spokesperson, Ian Sams, of having significant influence over Fox News, stating that Sams "virtually owns" the network, along with other officials like Neil Cavuto.
Trump expressed his disdain for the interview choice, saying, “Lyin’ Kamala Harris has wisely chosen Bret Baier, of Fox News, to do a much-needed interview because he is considered to be ‘Fair & Balanced,’ though often very soft on those on the ‘cocktail circuit’ Left.” He stated a preference for a "more hard-hitting journalist" to interview Harris.
Additionally, Trump criticized anchors such as Cavuto, Eric Shawn, and Arthel Neville, declaring that “Fox has totally lost its way” while giving favorable coverage to Democrats appearing on the network.
He also questioned, “How much time does Ian Sams, Senior Advisor to Lyin’ Kamala Harris, spend on Fox News?” and described Sams as “just a below-average guy.” Fox News did not respond immediately to requests for comments.
Despite his prior announcement that he would not appear on Fox News again, claiming it “averages out into NOTHING,” Trump has continued to participate on the network. He was recently interviewed on *Fox & Friends* and is scheduled to take part in a town hall hosted by Fox News this week, where he will address questions from an all-female audience.
