Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka by two wickets in the 15th match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 at Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas, on Saturday.
Chasing a target of 125 runs, Bangladesh reached their goal in the 19th over with eight wickets down. At one point, it seemed Bangladesh would achieve the target comfortably, but Sri Lanka made a strong comeback by reducing them from 91-3 to 113-8. However, Mahmudullah kept his cool and guided Bangladesh to victory, scoring 16 runs off 13 balls.
Towhid Hridoy was the top scorer for Bangladesh, making 40 runs off 20 balls with four sixes and one four. Litton Das also made a significant contribution with 36 runs.
Nuwan Thushara was the standout bowler for Sri Lanka, taking 4 wickets for 18 runs in his four overs.
