Spanish tourists targeted in Afghanistan terror attack

In Afghanistan's Bamyan province, three Spanish tourists were fatally shot by militants belonging to the Islamic State of Khorasan while visiting a historic site. Alongside the Spanish victims, an Afghan citizen was injured, while four foreigners and three Afghans sustained serious injuries, according to Afghan officials.

The attack underscores the growing threat of terrorism in Afghanistan, with the Islamic State of Khorasan expanding its reach beyond the country's borders. The group's activities have not only affected Afghanistan but have also targeted regions such as Iran, Turkey, and Europe, according to reports.

The deadly assault on the Spanish tourists comes in the wake of previous terrorist atrocities linked to the Islamic State of Khorasan.

In Moscow, 140 individuals lost their lives and over 500 were injured in an attack at the Croix City Hall. Similarly, in Iran, more than 100 people were killed in suicide bombings targeting the shrine of Qassem Soleimani in Kerman.

Afghanistan has witnessed a surge in terrorist attacks in recent months, with the Islamic State of Khorasan claiming responsibility for these acts of violence.

Incidents include a bomb blast in Badakhshan that targeted Taliban members, an attack on a mosque in Herat province resulting in casualties, and a suicide blast outside a Kandahar bank that claimed the lives of innocent civilians.

The escalation of violence has also impacted Kabul, where a bomb blast on a bus in Dasht-e-Barchi resulted in fatalities and injuries. Shockingly, the Islamic State of Khorasan has claimed responsibility for all these attacks.
