Robert F. Kennedy Jr withdraws presidential bid in Arizona: state secretary
1. Trump said this week he would "certainly be open" to Kennedy playing a role in his administration
Independent U.S. presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. filed paperwork on Thursday to withdraw from the presidential ballots in Arizona, as confirmed by Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes.
Kennedy’s withdrawal comes ahead of his scheduled address to the nation on Friday in Arizona.
A super PAC supporting Kennedy informed Reuters on Wednesday that Kennedy is seeking a deal with Donald Trump, in which he would endorse the Republican candidate in exchange for a position in a potential Trump administration.
Trump stated in an interview with CNN earlier this week that he would "certainly be open" to Kennedy playing a role in his administration if the independent candidate drops out of the race and offers his endorsement.
According to Fontes, Kennedy, his vice-presidential running mate Nicole Shanahan, and 11 of his presidential electors submitted a voluntary withdrawal. This announcement was shared via a post on X (formerly Twitter).
