**PMD Warns Fishermen as Arabian Sea Depression Moves Towards Oman Coast**
KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Tuesday advised fishermen to avoid deep-sea ventures due to a depression forming in the Arabian Sea, which is expected to move further towards the Oman coast.
According to a PMD statement, "The depression over the west-central Arabian Sea has shifted slightly westward over the past 10 hours and is now approximately 1,190 km southwest of Karachi."
The Met Office noted that winds of 30-40 km/h, with gusts up to 50 km/h, are expected near the depression's center until the evening, after which the intensity is likely to decrease. Rough sea conditions are anticipated to persist until evening but should improve later.
The depression is projected to weaken into a well-marked low-pressure area by Tuesday afternoon.
Meanwhile, *The News* reported that none of Pakistan's coastal areas are under any immediate threat from this weather system.
On Monday, Karachi experienced light showers early in the morning, attributed to cloud cover resulting from the Arabian Sea depression.
