PM Shehbaz Sharif to Visit UAE for World Governments Summit

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will embark on a two-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from February 10-11 to attend the World Governments Summit (WGS) in Dubai.

“The summit will bring together numerous Heads of State/Government, global policymakers, and leading private sector figures to discuss the future of governance, innovation, and international cooperation,” a Foreign Office spokesperson stated on Sunday.

This marks PM Shehbaz’s second visit to the UAE since assuming office in March 2024.

He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, along with key cabinet members, underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening ties with the UAE and other global partners.

During the visit, the prime minister will deliver a keynote address at the WGS, outlining Pakistan’s vision for inclusive economic growth, digital transformation, and governance reforms. He will also hold bilateral meetings with UAE leadership, engage with fellow Heads of State/Government, and interact with top executives from major multinational corporations.

“Pakistan and the UAE share a deep-rooted brotherly relationship founded on mutual trust, understanding, and long-standing cooperation. The UAE remains one of Pakistan’s key economic and strategic partners, with strong collaboration across multiple sectors,” the spokesperson added.

“The prime minister’s visit reaffirms Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening ties with the UAE, fostering economic collaboration, and exploring new avenues of partnership for mutual prosperity,” the statement concluded.
