**PCB 'Connection Camp' to Decide Pakistan Cricket Team’s Future**
**Senior cricketers and board officials to attend workshop.**
**Captains' potential changes will be discussed.**
**LAHORE:** The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will convene a "Connection Camp" on September 22, a strategic meeting aimed at shaping the future of Pakistan cricket, sources informed Geo News on Saturday.
The camp, chaired by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, will include Pakistan's white-ball head coach Gary Kirsten, red-ball head coach Jason Gillespie, heads of high-performance centers, senior cricketers, board officials, and both international and domestic directors.
Decisions regarding the team’s future will be based on the recommendations from this camp. Kirsten had previously returned to his home country after submitting a report to the PCB in July, while Gillespie went back to Australia following the Bangladesh Test series.
Coaches for red and white-ball cricket will hold separate discussions, with captaincy changes for both formats likely on the agenda. There is significant speculation about potential replacements for the white-ball captain, and Test captain Shan Masood’s position will also be reviewed.
Sources indicated that wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan is a strong candidate for the white-ball captaincy. The recent exclusion of Babar Azam from captaincy in the Champions One-Day Cup suggests he may be replaced as national captain, potentially before the Australia tour in November.
Rizwan's name is expected to be a key topic of discussion, and if favored, he may be appointed as captain across all formats in the future.
