Pat Sajak wins big at Creative Arts Emmys
1. Pat Sajak bags his Outstanding Host award in 26 years
Pat Sajak has won his first Creative Arts Emmy for hosting the final season of *Wheel of Fortune*.
At 77, Sajak received this accolade for his role after a 26-year gap, with his previous win dating back to 1998. Sajak began hosting the iconic game show in 1981 and retired in June 2024. He will be succeeded by Ryan Seacrest, who is set to take over hosting duties for the upcoming season starting September 9.
Over his career, Sajak has been nominated 23 times for various awards. He previously won Outstanding Game Show Host at the Daytime Emmys in 1993, 1997, and 1998. He also received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2011 Daytime Emmy Awards.
In June 2023, Sajak announced his departure after completing the 41st season of the show. He took to X (formerly Twitter) to thank his nearly 370,000 followers, saying, “Thank you all so very much,” marking the end of his more than 40-year tenure.
Although his time on *Wheel of Fortune* has concluded, Sajak will continue his television career with a final season of *Celebrity Wheel of Fortune* on ABC this fall.
