The Pakistani national football team encountered significant challenges in traveling to Tajikistan for their FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers match following their home leg against Saudi Arabia. Flight cancellations due to bird strikes and technical issues left some players and support staff stranded. Despite efforts to arrange alternative flights, including chartered ones, they faced further setbacks.
Fortunately, the Pakistan Air Force came to their aid, flying the remaining players from Nur Khan Air Base to Dushanbe in the morning, ensuring their participation in the crucial match against Tajikistan. The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) expressed gratitude to the Pakistani government, the Pakistan Army, and particularly the Pakistan Air Force for their unwavering support during this challenging situation.
The PFF also acknowledged Chairman NC Haroon Malik for his efforts in facilitating the team's transportation. Despite recent defeats in the qualifiers, the team remains determined to make the nation proud in their upcoming match.
