**SIALKOT:** Amid the scorching heat in Pakistan, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif took a refreshing dip in the Motra Canal in Sialkot, Punjab, on Tuesday.
The minister, along with his son Asad Khawaja, was seen enjoying the water, surrounded by a crowd. Onlookers quickly gathered to capture the moment, taking pictures and videos of Asif, who was casually dressed in a t-shirt.
Many regions in Pakistan, particularly Punjab, are experiencing intense heat, prompting people to seek various ways to stay cool.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted isolated showers across the country starting today. According to the Met Office, moist currents from the Arabian Sea are expected to move into the upper and central regions.
"A shallow westerly wave is also likely to approach the western parts of the country on June 18," the advisory noted.
Similar weather patterns are anticipated in several areas of Punjab, including Islamabad, Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Bhakkar, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Okara, Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Lahore, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Wazirabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, and surrounding regions.
