Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi meets Fazlur Rehman

During his visit, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi inquired about the health of Maulana Fazlur Rehman, expressing his best wishes and praying for his health and safety. Naqvi highlighted his 25-year relationship with Maulana Fazlur Rehman, characterized by respect and honour.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman at his residence in Islamabad. This meeting aimed to mend the rift that developed between the parties after the February 2024 general elections. 

PM Sharif praised Fazlur Rehman for his role in protecting democracy in Pakistan and acknowledged his religious contributions. To address the tensions and mend ties, PM Sharif proposed the formation of a committee. This committee would aim to address the concerns raised by the JUI-F chief, who has accused the government of election rigging and has been demanding a fresh mandate.
