In his comments regarding Pakistan’s efforts to bounce back against England following a disappointing loss in the first Test in Multan, former captain Mohammad Hafeez expressed optimism on Tuesday that their strategy would yield positive results.

In a post on X, Hafeez noted that the Pakistan team was seeking a winning formula for the home Test match by fielding four spinners on a previously used pitch. He tweeted, “By playing with four spinners, the team management is hopeful for a square turner. I hope this plan works in Pakistan’s favor.”

A "square turner" in cricket refers to a pitch that significantly aids spin bowlers by causing the ball to turn sharply.

Hafeez also shared the Pakistan playing XI for the second Test. The Green Shirts faced a disappointing defeat by an innings and 47 runs against England in the first Test.

In response, Pakistan made changes to its 16-member squad, resting senior players such as Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Sarfaraz Ahmed, who were replaced by younger players.

The second Test is currently taking place at Multan Cricket Stadium, the same venue as the first match, while the third and final match of the series is scheduled for October 24 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

England will be led by skipper Ben Stokes, who is making his return after recovering from a hamstring injury that sidelined him for the entire first Test.
