Ashlee Simpson reflects on musical milestone while parenting three kids

Ashlee Simpson recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of her debut album, Autobiography, reflecting on her journey in the music industry and the evolution of her personal life. In an interview with PEOPLE, she shared insights into her experiences as a wife, mother, and artist.

Married to Evan Ross, Ashlee co-parents Bronx, 15, with her ex-husband Pete Wentz, and shares daughters Jagger, 8, and Ziggy, 3, with Ross. Reflecting on the past two decades since the release of Autobiography, she expressed nostalgia and excitement, stating, "For me, 2004 and bringing that back is so much fun, and I love reflecting on that time." She marveled at the passage of time and the milestone of her album's anniversary.

Navigating the challenges of parenting children of different ages, Ashlee emphasized the importance of understanding each child's individual personality and interests. She highlighted the dynamic nature of their family life, stating, "Everyone is their own individual self and has their own personality, and it's really nice." Despite the age differences among her children, Ashlee finds joy in witnessing their unique growth and development.

Acknowledging the diverse interests and stages of her children's lives, Ashlee shared, "My oldest son's going to be 16, my daughter is 8. She's all into the music and my old music, Olivia Rodrigo, all the things." She emphasized the balance and harmony within their family dynamic, appreciating the individuality and humor that each child brings to their home.
