**Security Forces Apprehend Five Terrorists in Balochistan IBO: ISPR**

RAWALPINDI: Security forces arrested five terrorists, referred to as "Khawarij," during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Pishin, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Saturday.

A large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives, including three suicide vests, was recovered from the militants, who were involved in multiple terrorist attacks and were planning assaults on security personnel and civilians, the military’s media wing reported.

This operation is part of the ongoing efforts by security forces to combat terrorism, which has recently surged. According to the third-quarter report (Q3) by the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS), fatalities in the first three quarters of this year have already exceeded the total for all of 2023, with 1,534 deaths compared to last year’s 1,523.

During Q3 alone, 328 incidents were recorded, resulting in 722 deaths — including civilians, security personnel, and militants — and 615 injuries. Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remain at the forefront of the fight against terrorism, enduring the highest number of attacks.

In a separate operation on Thursday, security forces carried out an IBO in Balochistan's Zhob district, where two militants were killed, and weapons and ammunition were recovered during a sanitization operation, the ISPR stated.

The ISPR emphasized that Pakistan’s security forces remain resolute in their mission to eradicate terrorism and protect civilians from this threat.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the efforts of the armed forces, commending their bravery. “The entire nation, including myself, pays tribute to the soldiers and officers of the Pakistan Army for eliminating the menace of Fitna al-Khawarij,” he said. The premier reaffirmed that the nation stands united with the armed forces in thwarting the malicious designs of enemies seeking to destabilize the country.

These IBOs follow another series of operations last week, where security forces neutralized four terrorists in two separate missions conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
